Keep Same Domain Only turned on if you want to avoid crawling far beyond the website you meant to save.

Settings Guide

Download tab

This tab controls the default behavior for new downloads.

  • Timeout (seconds): How long SiteSilo waits before giving up on a request.
  • Max Asset Size (MB): Skips files larger than the limit you set. No Limit means no size cap.
  • User-Agent (optional): The name SiteSilo sends to websites when making requests.

Crawl Rules tab

This tab controls which pages SiteSilo is allowed to follow.

  • Same Domain Only: Only follows links that stay on the same website.
  • Respect robots.txt: Obeys the website’s crawler rules.
  • Skip Query Strings In Crawl: Treats addresses with different query values as the same page for crawling purposes.
  • URL Filters (optional): Lets you include or exclude address patterns more precisely.

Post-Run tab

This tab controls what SiteSilo does automatically after a download finishes.

  • Open Folder When Done: Opens the destination folder automatically when the download finishes.

Common Questions

Why did a website not download fully

Some websites block crawlers, load content in unusual ways, or depend heavily on browser-only behavior that is harder to save as a normal offline copy.

Where are my downloaded files

They are saved in the folder shown in Destination.

How do I retry failed items

After a download finishes, click Retry Failed.

Do I need an account

No. SiteSilo does not require an account.
